Usually I just skip right to the road or cx page but that means I miss updates on the main page.

The recent upgrades/downgrades is back so you can congratulate folks ( or heckle as the case may be… :) ).

2009 champions all in one place. For the largest district in the country, U23 women don’t contest the crit/road race or did we not have an event/or min field? OTOH, no women over 60 or men over 70 either…

Flavia Oliveira? She dropped off the radar after having a dominating season locally in 2008. A little birdie pointed me in this direction for updates on the Brazil->NorCal->Europe escapades.

Hello Everyone,

You probably have heard by now that the proposed sentence for James
Council, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputy that killed Kristy
Gough and Matt Peterson. If you have not, James Council pretty much
gets away without much punishment. He is intended to wear an
electronic ankle bracelet for 4 months, serve 800 hours of community
service, do 3 years of probation and pretty much keep his job. It is
sad to see how little our justice system values the lives of those
that, through no fault of their own, cannot be with us anymore.

With that in mind, we decided to celebrate their lives by riding from
the West Valley Division of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department
to the memorial site and back. Below is the info:

When: Sunday, June 21st
Meeting at 10am
Address: 1601 S. De Anza Blvd., Cupertino, CA 95014
The ride will start at 11am.

Attached is the route for your reference:

We hope to see as many of you Sunday as we possibly can!!

Subject: Support Peter Leibold’s unicycle charity ride

Peter Leibold, the son or Velo Promo owner Robert Leibold, is embarking on an ambitious 200 mile unicycle charity ride this month. The route will be from South Lake Tahoe to San Francisco, again on a UNICYCLE! The ride will benefit his alma mater’s music department – Sonora High School. Accompanying Peter will be his friend Alex riding a unicycle for Crescenta High School’s music department.

Please consider making a donation for their cause. Peter has been working Velo Promo races for 14 years, helping us participate in the sport we love. This could be one small way we thank him for his efforts.

You can find out more information at Unicycle for the Arts
